About

I'm a weird mix of designer and developer. Most people in my profession are good at either one or the other, and I've been able to set myself apart by being pretty good at both (but my passion's always been on the design side). These days, I work for the most awesome company in the world and get to help large businesses make strategic technology decisions. And I'm lucky enough to still get to use those design skills on proposals or as a "PowerPoint engineer."

Education

I'm a perpetual student. I earned my Associate of Arts degree at Northwest Mississippi Community College where I began to hone my talents for design and production. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Mississippi, spent a semester in England at Nottingham University, and recently completed my Masters in Business Administration from Christian Brothers University. I'm contemplating pursuing a graduate degree in human factors to synthesize my love of design and technology.

Community Involvement

I occasionally speak at or contribute to local user groups (Memphis SharePoint User Group, Memphis SQL PASS Chapter, Memphis .NET User Group). I'm an active member of the Christian Brothers University MBA Alumni community and am working to get involved with organizations like LaunchMemphis. My pet charity is the Hope Christian Home and Academy in Duck Hill, Mississippi, and I want to thank Microsoft for all its done to help me and my family support them.

Trey Wayne Trivia

  1. Wayne is not my middle name, fortunately. "Trey Wayne" is a nickname given to me by a few friends at school who wanted me to make sure I never forgot my southern roots, since nearly everyone from the south seems to share that middle name.
  2. I was one of a handful of finalists from Memphis for "The Weakest Link" the week before the September 11 bombings.
  3. I play drums, and would love nothing more to play in a small jazz combo when I retire, with my beautiful bride on piano.
  4. I've caught the running bug and can be found at Snowden Grove most weekend mornings praying that my poor knees will hold out for just a little while longer.
